#Kaleo2011: Week 1

 The tagline of Kaleo 2011 is ‘The Summer of Your Life!’

In hopes of capturing this summer, we’ve decided to feature one picture ever day. Here’s a few favorites thus far:

Day 1

After jumping, screaming, shrills, and hugs upon arrival our first stop for dinner was Chick-Fil-A and the brand new, Krispy Kreme for a free donut!

‘Kaleo Kraze’ Social at the Beach---we were ‘The Old Ladies.’

Day 4

Hit up the conga line at ‘The Hangout,’ the local ice cream shoppe, and chatted with our 4th group member. Can’t wait until she gets here this next week!

Day 5

After church  we enjoyed an afternoon of productivity, a game of volleyball, and a stellar music video! It was the #BLT movie debut!

We’re leaving for KALEO!!!!!

This summer i’ll be living in Gulf Shores, Alabama as part of a campus ministry leadership training program. A couple hundred college students from across the Midwest descend upon cities in the south to receive character training to learn how to ‘Know God More and to Make God More Known.’

Throughout the summer, I plan to utilize my blog to keep friends and supporters updated on life in the south! This summer i’ve been provided the privilege to serve in the capacity as a group leader. How humbling to be entrusted with a role in the growth of students this summer. So blessed that some of my greatest friends, Alyson, Sara, and Tiffany, are the ladies whom i’ll be living with.

• D-E-E-P Life Chats
• Jammin’ to the iPod—i’m obsessed (maybe that words a little strong) with ‘Reign in Us’ by Starfield
• Listening to Sermons—personal favorite ‘Many Aspire, Few Attain’ by Walt Henrichsen
• Sketchy Fast Food/Convenient Stores…lol
