T-Minus 10 days before nearly 60,000 of our closest friends
descend upon Indianapolis for National FFA Convention!
Oh my goodness, it's so close. Our team can't believe that a year has flown and a new beginning is just around the corner.
With all of the excitement for convention, it becomes so easy to get wrapped up in the 'To Do' lists of life.
- Memorize session scripts
- Review Event remarks
- Wrap Gifts
- Write Thank Yous
- Call Home
- Catch Up on Facebook
- Post a Blog
- Laundry
- Each of these things are well and good, but sometimes I get so bogged down by how many 'things' must be crammed into 24 hours that I forget a few of the Lord's most basic commands.
Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the
Lord, not men. ~Ephesians 6:7Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as
working for the Lord, not for men. ~Colossians 3:23
Currently, our team is in the middle of prepping, which is so exciting. But in the same breath though, I get nervous, overwhelmed, worried, anxious...wondering will the work get done? How much more can I memorize, really? Am I doing everything I can to glorify God?
Stepping back we just need to be reminded that how we approach and execute things on our 'To Do' lists ultimately determine our "To Be" lists.
This doesn't mean that doing our work or chores isn't important---in fact it's quite the opposite. Serving a greater purpose starts with the attitude of looking for the joy or opportunity in all situations.
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. ~Psalm 118:24
